Educational Stable Management Programme

The Educational Stable Management Programme is designed to educate children aged between 12 years and 18 years old in a number of areas of equine care and stable management. This programme is usually scheduled to take place during school holidays e.g. Mid Term Breaks, Christmas, Easter and the Summer Holidays over a period of 3 days. The cost of the programme is €120 (€10 per hour):

During their time with us, the students will learn the following:

♦  How horses communicate & how to communicate with them

♦  How to tack up with a bridle, saddle & roller

♦  Identify the grooming kit and know its uses

♦  How to groom

♦  How to muck out a stable

♦  How to lead a pony to and from the field

♦  How to lead a pony in a lesson

There will be an assessment at the end of the course and the students will receive a certificate for all of the activities that they can do independently. When the full certificate is obtained, there is a possibility of the student becoming a helper when a space becomes available. 

Please note that horse riding lessons are not part of this course. 

The Students should bring a snack and a drink with them to have on their break.
