Francesca Hennessy – ETP Supervisor / EAL Facilitator

Francesca Hennessy – ETP Supervisor / EAL Facilitator

Working for Festina Lente was a dream come true for me as it combines my love of horses and my desire to help people develop and grow on a personal level.  Before joining the team in 2020, I volunteered with Festina for four years with the EAL and Outreach programmes, giving me great experience for my own EAL sessions. I have a real passion for equine welfare, and I love helping our students and clients to make meaningful connections with horses. In my spare time, I also run a healing clinic for horses and humans, combining energy and shamanic work with essential oils, tuning forks and colour therapy.

Patrick Howlett - Horticulturist

Patrick has a busy schedule here at Festina Lente. In addition to playing a major role in deciding what is planted within our Victorian walled garden, he also is qualifying as a facilitator of our Social Horticultural Therapy course.  Patrick runs workshops for students from some of our local schools and, when we are not in a level 5 lockdown, shares his extensive skills and knowledge of fruit and vegetable growing, garden planning and maintenance with our day service users, community groups, visiting tours and allotment holders.  He manages the allotments, propagates seeds for sale as plants in the shop and mentors volunteers working in the gardens. His favourite part of the role is getting to work with so many different people, from within his team to the whole organisation and the public. In his own time, Patrick enjoys keeping fit, loves music (and is searching for the perfect choir to join!) and travels as much as he can.

Volunteers

Volunteers

Festina Lente is honoured to have an amazing group of volunteers working with them in our Walled Victorian Garden throughout the year.  Many of our volunteers have been with us for years continuing to help our garden team create a space that promotes wellbeing for the heart and head. Without their contribution, Festina Lente would not be the special place it is. For this, we are truly grateful.
