Discover the History of the Gardens
Supported by Pobal, the Garden Project provides meaningful employment to a team of people through the restoration of a Victorian Walled Garden built in 1780. The Plunkett family, a very prominent family in Irish political and religious life for 130 years owned the garden up until the 1930’s.

The garden also engages with a variety of local community groups in order to facilitate a variety of horticultural related projects including horticultural therapy.  The garden offers a variety of workshop for children and adults throughout the year.

In addition, the garden grows and sells a wide range of organic vegetables and works with community groups in supporting them to learn about healthy eating options.

The gardens are open to the public and provide guided tours, plant, vegetable and flower sales, flower arranging classes and lectures about the local heritage of the area.
